What is Muay Thai?
Muay Thai is a combat sport and type of martial art that is also referred to as Thai boxing. It involves stand-up striking or kicking with various moves. It differs from Brazilian jiu-jitsu, as jiu-jitsu is more of a grappling martial art while Muay Thai is more of a standing and striking martial art.
The aim in Muay Thai is to strike your opponent using different methods.
Some methods include Muay Thai punches such as jab, cross, hook, and uppercut. Other methods include kicks such as low kick, body kick, and high kick. In Muay Thai, knees, elbows, clinch, and blocking are also used.
Muay Thai fights are five rounds, each lasting 3 minutes, and can be won by a knockout, a technical knockout, or points.
